Bamboo is such a versatile material that Teak Heirlooms couldn’t help but be fascinated by it. So, we decided to dive straight into the deep-end and get involved with bamboo in a big way. The first school entirely constructed of bamboo has been built on an 8 acre plot across a river at Bali. Bamboo has been officially recognized as a structural material (i.e., not only for flooring). It consumes CO2 at an enormous rate. It is considered a renewable resource, and is hence eco-friendly.

The first time a BLOB ever hit me with great relevance was sometime during my second or third year in Architecture. I can hardly forget that day, as my revered teacher of History, Culture and Design awarded me a ZERO and thought I would be upset or complain. I was so thrilled that he could not even give me a single mark for my effort that I made it a point to build that design one day in the future, which I did after I started my practice –Jaisim-Fountainhead. That BLOB was realized and revolutionized my thinking.
